What is special about our Baby pumpkin?

Pumpkin plants grow huge and take up a lot of space. Therefore, they are usually not suitable for cultivation in a vegetable garden box.

This Baby Pumpkin gives quite small fruits. That is why you can lead the plant up through a climbing frame and it takes up much less space.

Sow and grow baby pumpkin

Pumpkins cannot withstand the cold and should therefore be sown indoors at the end of April/beginning of May.

First pre-germinate the seeds and then put them in a pot with half MM-mix and pre-sowing vermiculite. Grow the plant indoors and place it outside in the container near a climbing frame at the end of May.

Pumpkins need a lot of nutrition. Therefore, before planting, work some extra MM nutrition through the box and give some more in July.

Note: this plant also tends to grow enormously and takes up a large part of the climbing frame. Therefore, place it next to a box with snow peas or pole beans, both are excellent neighbours.

You can find the step-by-step sowing and growing instructions for Baby Pumpkin in the Easy Vegetable Garden app. You will also find a detailed description in the knowledge base.
